I've recently finished revising Moving (2005-06), for musette, viola and piano. This new version should be performed fairly soon; I will post details when available. I am also making a series of experiments involving '80s Casio keyboards and Max/MSP, which may or may not result in a set of etudes. I'm completing work on a new piece for the Swiss-based Ensemble Proton, which will be premiered in March.

I have just been awarded the first prize of the Henri Dutilleux competition for Night Division. I was also awarded a two-year residency in Tours, France, which will involve both composing pieces for the orchestra, and also teaching. Finally, Night Division will be published by Alphonse Leduc, the first of my pieces to be made commercially available in a printed edition.

In other news, A Moitié Gommé for solo cello will be premiered, after a long wait, by Askar Ishangaliev in Rome on 1 March. Joshua Hyde and the Duo Jatekok will be performing PSP for saxophone and two pianos in Paris in May, and several performances are being organized for the Darmstadt summer festival, including the premiere of a new concerto for saxophone and small ensemble.

Many new projects are underway, including a piece for cello and electronics which will be premiered at IRCAM in April, by the superb cellist Askar Ishangaliev. Other projects include a piece for Ensemble Proton (Bern), and a piece for solo saxophone and ensemble, for Joshua Hyde and Sound Initiative. Three new recordings are now available on the 'listen' page: a new / improved mix of my 2006 acousmatic piece RrĂªves de Triscal; a recording of my 2011 ensemble piece Evenements Quotidiens, with Jean Deroyer conducting the Orchestre National de Lorraine; and a recording of my recent solo piano piece Au Travers du Cerceau, by Paris-based pianist Zheni Meria. The recording of my orchestral work Along Unseen Rails will be available here by mid-November.

Evénements Quotidiens for 13 musicians was recently premiered in Metz by the Orchestre National de Lorraine, with Jean Deroyer conducting. A recording will be available on this site soon. I have recently completed my largest work to date, Along Unseen Rails for 21 musicians, which lasts approximately 19 minutes. It will be premiered in Paris on 21 October by the Orchestre des Lauréats du Conservatoire, with Pierre-André Valade conducting.

Other projects are currently underway. Radio France has commissioned me to compose an Alla Breve, a 10-minute work for large ensemble. I am currently in the mixing phase of a new CD which was recorded in mid-July. I have been working with the extraordinary glass harmonica player Martin Hilmer in Bavaria. Also, I will be studying at IRCAM for 7 months starting in September.

After an 8-year wait, PLP for lupophone and two pianos is being premiered at the Amsterdam Conservatory on 15 March. Also, La Pendule de Profil, which took 4 years to find its final form, will be premiered in its final version by Jean Deroyer on 14 March in Paris.

Besides the completion of my current project for 21 musicians, I will be composing a new work for the Centre Acanthes this year. Finally, there is now a studio recording of the Cinq Pièces for flute and percussion, and Joshua Hyde will shortly be making a new recording of Micrographia.

I have just completed re-engraving and revising PHP, a piece from 2003 for the unusual combination of heckelphone and two pianos. The piece is also being prepared in an alternate version as PLP for lupophone and two pianos. The lupophone is a newly-invented instrument with amazing potential. Performances of PLP have already been planned and details will be posted in the coming days.

A recording of Joshua Hyde's premiere performance at Annecy of Micrographia (tenor saxophone version) can be heard on his website.

I will soon be making studio recordings of Cinq Pièces, as well as the new saxophone version of Micrographia. Meanwhile, work continues on my large new piece for 21 musicians.
